The Backstory

David and Aleesha met back in 2017, when Aleesha profiled him for a now long-forgotten story.

There was earnest banter, Aleesha often not getting the jokes (a common ailment not limited to David’s humour), but there was a shared intrigue for design thinking and love of using big words.

Over the years these industry pals© would occasionally share gripes, postulations, story pitches and big ideas. Add a few more years, and a convo over coffee became a motivating moment to stop talking and start creating. But what exactly? An interview series, maybe. A deathbed confessional, tried that. A podcast, yessss. And that is the abridged version of how Creative or Dead the podcast was hatched.

This podcast feels many years in the making because in a lot of ways it is – it brings together our collective decades of experience and curiosity about process, design and creativity and turns it into a conversation.
